New tax regime for sports betting among the changes

On 21 December 2015 Italy’s Chamber of Deputies approved the 2016 budget that among other things encompasses a profitbased tax regime on sports betting, higher tax rates on slot machines and video lottery terminals (‘VLTs’), a new licensing round and fresh advertising rules. This year Kalff Katz & Franssen hosted again its Annual Gaming Industry Event traditionally held at the Koninklijke Industrieele Groote Club in Amsterdam. The event was this year co-hosted with the International Masters of Gaming Law. It was a huge success with over 150 attendees from all over the world.
