The European Commission has recently published a Green Paper which is the first step towards harmonization, whilst Spain, Germany and Greece have become the latest hotspots for operators looking to increase there customer base.

With betting operators such as Partygaming and Bwin combining forces, M&A has been revived as a strategy to increase liquidity and profitability, whilst the numbers of smaller successful operators are growing daily. This is an exciting time for the gaming industry, the legal issues are huge, but with them bring big commercial opportunities. Market entrance strategies for European operators entering the US market and vice versa are on the tip of everyone’s tongue, and Eastern Europe and the emerging markets looks certain to be the one subject where the whole industry will be looking at with anticipation and impending opportunity.
