Mr. Morten Rønde started his career as a legal adviser to the Danish State Lottery. In 2000 he moved to the newly-founded Gaming Board as Head Legal Adviser. Morten focuses on a multitude of regulation and policy issues both domestically and internationally. He advises the Danish Government on legislation, EU cases and policy. Morten is a member of the Executive Board of Gaming Regulators European Forum (GREF). Morten is internationally perceived as one of the key architects of the Danish gambling reform which includes a liberalisation of sports betting, online casino games and poker activities. The gambling reform is expected to come into force on 1 January 2011. In the light of the anticipated report by the Commission Jansen (1 March 2010) which will comprise recommendations to the Dutch Ministry of Justice on the future regulation of remote gaming in the Netherlands, Mr. Morten Rønde will speak on the reform of the remote gaming sector in Denmark.
